The Canada Job Grant helps employers train new or existing employees for their current position or a new position with the same employer.
The Grant makes it possible for you to maximize your training opportunities. Under the program, the government covers up to 2/3rds of your approved training costs, with your employer paying the remaining 1/3rd – up to a maximum of $10,000 per year.
If an employer hires an unemployed person, up to 100% of training costs could be covered up to $15,000 per trainee (varies by province).
Your employer must apply on your behalf for eligible training costs … so make sure your boss knows about the program and the funds available to develop a skilled and trained team!
